IFTTT

IFTTT is an acronym for the technical jargon referring to coded applets – ‘If this then that. It operates using a thread of conditional statements in response to changes in apps such as Gmail. It’s akin to an automated script, enabling unseen features to be deployed, such as home security or smart features on appliances.

By synchronising multiple devices together, IFTTT allows complete control of your desired activities on demand. Share material across the board, such as uploaded pics: just from one device (to others, which can be virtually infinite). Clever, isn’t it? That’s not all though. You can embed your new product line within an existing best-seller to benefit from the leverage. This is applying their connect-learn-grow model. You can adapt by learning customer intention or just utilise this for daily routine chores. Promote your health by setting reminders to exercise or organise work with meeting appointment alerts.

This seems so versatile, so what could be wrong with it (if at all)? Well surprisingly, a few things, as we shall now see:

• This is arguably not a complete disadvantage & more subjective if anything…as the interface is considered oversimplified & lacks multi-process functionality, IFTTT isn’t ideal for advanced users seeking to create complex algorithms
• Its linear approach makes it somewhat repetitive when designing a code & lacks full customisability. This limits programmability.

So there you have it: a simple to use coding app by the name of IFTTT. If you’re a beginner who just wishes to formulate a straightforward command to make life convenient for yourself, then, by all means, go ahead as this is for you. However, don’t expect too many frills from its elementary infrastructure, otherwise advanced users will be disappointed.
