Hosted by AWS (Amazon Web Services), their CloudFront product delivers a programmable, safe & most importantly, fast CDN. Offering low latency & high speed, fulfill video/graphic or dynamic content, static pages, SaaS, APIs, etc to customers. Transfer rates are optimised & maintained by integrated native platforms with app features, such as elastic load balancing – to name but a few. Pay for what you use: as & when, with their flexible pricing model. Enhanced retention, de-duplication & backup ensures readily accessible data on an immediate need basis.
Shield security comes as standard (including firewalls & data compliance standards), as does the vast 220 PoP network coverage. Custom coded logic can be implemented for improved end user responsiveness & personalised content delivery, by applying AI powered automations. Static asset caching with images & scripts; VOD live applications with full 4k & multi-format capabilities plus robust protection are just some of their offerings. Dynamic material handling accelerates websocket traffic & supports proxy methods, such as post, put, options, delete & patch. High data transfer rates improve customer experience with increased deliverability of binaries.
There are issues with CloudFront by AWS though, starting with complex integrations, pricey PAYG plans & below industry average uptime. These are just scratching the surface. Unless you’re running a large scaled business, the associated costs & complexity can be daunting, to say the least. Lastly & perhaps counterintuitively, even for larger setups, the questionable uptime reliability issues make this an unwise choice: in any case. Sorry to disappoint you readers!

Not Impressed with Amazon CloudFront
I recently tried Amazon CloudFront for my website and I was not impressed. The setup was quite complicated, and the documentation was not very helpful. The pricing was also quite expensive compared to other services. I also experienced slow loading times, which made it a less than ideal solution. Overall, I would not recommend Amazon CloudFront.
