Collaboration & Productivity Software, Project Management Software
Asana Overview
Asana is essentially an application to unify & manage the workflow of teams. It monitors productivity & organises such tasks accordingly – the idea being to improve efficiency. It follows a simple model & legacy: the purpose of work, who holds the responsibility to do so & methodology of doing so. This allows & encourages a workforce to take further ownership of their work & roles.
Some practical applications of using Asana include:
• Employee onboarding & sharing updates or information across the board in a timely as well as reliable manner
• Project management: be able to visualise your entire team’s progress in a snapshot & then make any recommendations regarding deadlines or otherwise. Use (listed) timelines to prioritise & delegate tasks accordingly
• Empower yourself to control your workflow using various flowcharts to reshuffle resources for yourself & the team (if required)
• Integrated solutions using AI with other apps, create forms & rules to automate the assignment of tasks
• Reporting to ensure that the current status is accurately recorded & validated as either being on/off track or at risk
Looking at the negatives:
• Not welcoming for new users, however ideal for experienced project managers. Asana appears to have targeted a niche audience here.
• An overwhelming amount of features: this again can be distracting & perplexing for novices. A simpler interface would’ve been better
• Tasks can only be delegated to an individual: not multiple people simultaneously
• No time tracking feature appears to be available
• Limited exportability of data to other apps, which is restrictive
In summary, if you’re an already adept individual with respect to using such advanced features within project management software, then Asana is the way to go. It boasts superior functionality to prioritise, organise & monitor just about anything plus everything! Nonetheless, if you’re more of a beginner or perhaps even at an intermediate level, you may want to check the market first. Having said that, even for the experts, some of its drawbacks (such as limited functionality & restrictive operation) may be repulsive for them too!

Not user-friendly and buggy
I've been using Asana for a few months now and I'm really not impressed. The UI is clunky and unintuitive, and I've had a lot of problems with bugs and glitches. I don't think I'll be using it again.
