Typeform Overview
Typeform is an online software as a service (SaaS) brand, based in Barcelona. They specialise in online form curation as well as surveys. The software is designed to create dynamic forms, customisable as per user requirements. Their clientele includes major brands such as Apple, Uber & Nike. Their capacity allows them to create millions of forms monthly.
Introduction Video: Getting started with Typeform
In terms of pricing, they do offer a complimentary basic plan, allowing users to sample their service. Otherwise, prices start from as little as 35 USD per month for the essentials package. What’s more, if you’re willing to pay for up to a year as a one-time annual subscription, then they offer the professional services pack at no extra cost. For premium, the monthly subscription doubles to 70 USD. The main differences between these three choices are the volume of responses, customisability, technical features & support offered.
Let’s have a look at the specific features and advantages they offer:
Data export options (for use in other domains) & embeddable for use in or alongside other programs, software packages & sites.
User-friendly & interactive interface to appeal to the majority of users
A variety of themes & using logic jump steps with AI as well as answer piping. This creates a fluid conversational template & transition between questions/replies.
128bit secured encryption to allay any data integrity concerns
Free API & connection to over 200 other online services sporting credible data for promotional ventures, yielding accurate results. Stripe integration reinforces this
Sounds great, right? Well with that, unfortunately, there’s always a caveat. These are the limitations or even cons of using Typeform, including:
On a free subscription, the options are quite limited: this would mean that in many instances, a paid package is necessary to benefit from the much-needed features & unique selling points.
Limited scope when multiple queries or topics are involved: elementary infrastructure
Not very approachable or responsive customer/technical support service has been reported by users,
Internal reporting features can be inefficient & transition between unpaid & paid packages is somewhat jerky
So overall, Typeform has an excellent concept to automate & promote customer engagement via form & survey filling. After all, not many are willing to invest their valuable time in suchlike. Notwithstanding this, the actual implementation & operation of this service does have its drawbacks. Users report mixed experiences, especially concerning the availability of features on free packages.
Moreover, even adding a paid subscription doesn’t appear to resolve the issue of inherent technological limitations & related support issues. Undeniably, this isn’t the most seamless way of conducting market research online. This is evident & substantiated by user testing & reviews.

Not the Best Form Builder
I recently tried out Typeform as a form builder for my website, but I wasn't overly impressed. The interface was a bit clunky and I found it difficult to customize the forms. The templates available were not very modern or attractive, and I had trouble finding the features I needed. On top of that, the pricing structure is a bit confusing and I wasn't sure if I was getting the best value for my money. Overall, I wouldn't recommend Typeform for anyone looking for a reliable form builder.
